About The Keystone Center

A Calling to Care. A Vision to Equip. A Commitment to Multiply.

Keystone brings together the experience of seasoned ministry leadership, a carefully developed educational vision, and a commitment to building an institution that will continue preparing others for generations to come.

The Keystone Center for Care and Education, Inc. was officially founded on December 13, 2025, to help meet a need that had become increasingly clear: those called to pastoral care ministry deserve thorough preparation for the responsibilities entrusted to them.

Keystone's beginnings are rooted in a journey of faith, perseverance, and a growing conviction that the need for well-prepared pastoral care practitioners was far greater than any one person or ministry could meet.

What began as a personal calling to serve hurting people developed into a vision for educating and equipping others to carry that work forward.

Meet Our Founder

Theresa Vaughn, D.Div.

Founder and Executive Director

Dr. Theresa Vaughn brings more than 50 years of experience in Christian ministry, pastoral counseling, teaching, and leadership, with a particular emphasis on serving individuals, couples, and families navigating relational challenges, emotional wounds, and trauma.

Her decades of ministry have deepened her conviction that lasting healing and restoration are the work of God, and that those called to pastoral care must be equipped with biblical understanding, compassionate wisdom, practical skills, and ethical integrity.

As Founder and Executive Director of The Keystone Center for Care and Education, she is committed to preparing capable, compassionate individuals for pastoral care ministry, with specialized training in trauma recovery coaching.

Her vision, shared by Keystone's Board of Directors, is to see individuals called to pastoral care ministry equipped with the biblical understanding, practical skills, and spiritual foundation to offer wise, compassionate, trauma-informed, and hope-filled care to individuals, families, churches, and communities throughout the world.

A Legacy That Opens Doors

The George Kenneth Vaughn Memorial Scholarship Fund

Throughout his life, George Kenneth Vaughn was a quiet but faithful partner in the ministry that ultimately led to Keystone's founding.

The scholarship fund established in his memory carries forward his legacy of supporting those called to serve. It is intended to help students access the education and training that will prepare them to minister to others.
